I am a Montreal based visual artist.

My practice can be considered as a deliberate and inventive way of "hanging my dirty laundry". The foundation of my work relies heavily on my own experiences and sensations while aiming for transparency, depth and sincerity. I am motivated by a desire to grasp the role I occupy in various locations and communities some of which I consider familiar and some foreign.
I am increasingly drawn to audience participation as a fundamental component of my work. This desire arises from years of intervention work, studies in Psychology and Art Education, various teaching experiences and the aspiration to engage a broader audience in art making and art appreciation.

I have been published twice in the Concordia Art Education Journal InArte Journal in 2016 and 2017. The article, Material Culture: Concepts of Material Culture Studies and Collecting in the Community Art Practice and the piece Dwelling can be accessed from http://inartejournal.ca/veronique-chasse/ and http://inartejournal.ca/veronique-chasse-2/.
